Sharing+ by InstaSite is an exciting new way to share your content online by building self-hosted MicroSites that allow you to join in the engagement that comes with sharing.
Sharing+ allows you to build feature-rich single-page website instances called 'InstaSites' created in just a few seconds around images or movies (music and documents coming soon).
InstaSites are real websites that feature video and text chat, Facebook and Disqus commenting, revenue generation and much more. On the surface Sharing+ does appear similar to micro-blogging sites such as Tumblr and Posterous. The real difference is, however, what goes on behind the scenes as Sharing+ is NOT a website-as-service, but rather a fully distributed personal-server software. Sharing+ is more akin to self-hosting a Wordpress, Drupa or Joomla blog, only with scores of single-page microsite instances, rather than one single continuous blog.
Like any real, self-hosted website, InstaSites have their own dedicated URI. This does NOT have to be an InstaSite sub-domain but can be any legitimate domain or sub-domain and can be hosted by any 3rd-party hosting provider. Whilst Sharing+ was designed to be cloud-hosted and provided for free or as part of a hosting package, it will be available for outright purchase for users running ther own web servers at home.
Sharing+ is 100% fully distributed software that is intended to be IconicOS compatible (more information about IconicOS and personal web servers is available online).
